If you’re not a big fan of drinking animal droppings with your river water while hiking or on the go, the MSR Miox water filter is all you need to de-pooify a steady, virtually unlimited, potable water supply.

These electronic drug dealers won't be out on the street next to a Pepsi machine, of course. No, they'll be "housed in standalone rooms, abutting two dispensaries and protected by round-the-clock security guards." To use them, you'll need to go with a prescription in hand, get fingerprinted and get a prepaid credit card that's loaded up with your dosage and what strain of weed you want. Yeah, no joke, the pharmacists in LA give you a choice between OG Kush and Granddaddy Purple. In the future, the machines may also be outfitted to sell other popular drugs such as Viagra, Vicodin and Propecia. Combine all four for a really interesting night that'll also slowly grow your hair back!
And here I was thinking New York City was a liberal town. When do we get weed vending machines, Bloomberg? Huh? [Thrillist]

Here it is, the most useful iPod accessory yet: the iPod-charging toilet roll! The iCarta costing about £40 has the same features as a standard docking station, except, it’s a paper dispenser: by placing the MP3 player on the device the four moisture-resistant speakers will let you listen to the iPod’s songs in high quality and the player will charge while you’re taking a shower, brushing your teeth or simply sitting on the toilet.
The gadget, which was developed by Atech Flash Technology, is eight inches (210 mm) wide, seven inches (93 mm) deep, three and a half inches (181 mm) high and is meant to be easily mounted on your bathroom wall. The accessory uses its rechargeable batteries to last up to eight hours and is compatible with any iPod that has a doc connector (includes iTouch.)
To me, it’s just another way to rock ‘n’ roll…

This latest version has some upgrades when comparing to the original, such as a better chassis, a chair with a lot of padding, so you don’t feel the bumps, and more.
The Sony Reader Digital Book can carry up to 160 ebooks in its 1/3-in. think frame. Weighing a mere 9 ounces, the Sony Reader is perfect for a bookworm on the go. You can download files from the Sony Ebook store, although you can also view files of various formats such as PDFs, texts, RTFs, Word documents and BBeBs. It features a six-inch display and boasts paper-like screen technology. You can use the Sony Reader until 7,500 page turns before the need for a recharge. In my opinion, this is the next best thing to the Amazon Kindle, especially since the Kindle costs a full USD$100 more. The Sony Reader Digital Ebook retails for USD$299.
First, you can lash it to a stick to turn it into a real axe. It'll turn bolts, convert into a small bow for killing game, the carbon steel blade will let you skin and butcher the animal and a fire-bow bearing means you can build a fire and cook it. Quote: "There goes the skin... Just like it had a zipper."
Laser etched graphics on the side of the tool allow it to be used as a sun dial, compass, inclinometer and rangefinder. The ATAX isn't cheap, at around $100-$160, but it's 100% awesome.
